Nice to Meet You!
I'm Hansoll Na—a curious mind driven by science and purpose

Ever since I first peered into a microscope, I've been fascinated by invisible stories inside living cells. Today, as a cancer biologist at Yonsei University, I explore how cells communicate and resist in disease—especially within the tumor microenvironment. I focus on translational research bridging molecular insights with clinical impact. I'm currently preparing for a PhD to deepen this work.

Research
Experience

Researcher

Yonsei University Hospital

▪ Analyzing single-cell RNA-seq and TCR-seq data from esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients to characterize immune microenvironment dynamics across primary tumor and metastatic lymph nodes.

▪ Characterizing compartment-specific T cell exhaustion states and myeloid-driven regulatory interactions, and currently validating key findings through high-plex spatial transcriptomics.

▪ Participating in a genomic profiling study of non-small cell lung cancer to identify histology-specific predictors of resistance to neoadjuvant  chemoimmunotherapy, integrating genomic disturbance and AI-based TIL analysis.

2024 - Present

2021 - 2024

Graduate Researcher/Research Associate

Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea

▪ Completed M.Sc thesis focused on the genome-wide identification of bifunctional genes leveraging the integration ofpolysome profiling and Oxford Nanopore long-read RNA sequencing.

▪ Developed an isoform-level pipeline to classify non-canonical coding/non-coding transcripts; contributed to a manuscript(in preparation) and multiple conference presentations.

▪ Continued post-graduation research to extend the bifunctional gene framework toward clinical relevance, including miningfor prognostic associations.

▪ Applied Oxford Nanopore direct RNA sequencing to detect and characterize previously unknown RNA modifications.

▪ Mentored junior graduate students in sequencing protocols, experimental design, and troubleshooting.

▪ Led wet-lab operations and coordinated interdisciplinary research efforts, ensuring effective integration of computationalanalysis with experimental work.

▪ Established an optimal pipeline for single-nuclei RNA sequencing of Drosophila pupal hemocytes on Drop-seq platform.

2020 - 2021

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea

▪Discovered and characterized previously unidentified mitochondria-like structures in Drosophila adult hemolymph.
